Diospyros kaki, also called persimmon or Oriental persimmon, is a sweet, slightly tangy fruit with a soft to occasionally fibrous texture.
The fruit has a high proanthocyanidin-type tannin content, which are reduced as the fruit matures.
Similar in shape to an apple tree, the kaki tree reaches a size of up to 10 metres (33 ft).
The fruit can weigh more than 500 grams. It is an orange hue, with a translucent skin when ripe.
When ripe, they are very fragile and are difficult to transport.
It is consumed raw as fresh fruit and also cooked in many different ways.
Our fruits are carefully choosen and cooled in order to avoid degradation and mantain our high quality standards.
We offer the Fuyu variety that does not have seeds or any adstringency to its fruits.
